Argus privacy statement

ArgusA viewer for the cameras on your own network

• It has no server. Nothing you do in Argus reaches the person who wrote it, or anyone else.
• It has no analytics, no usage tracking, no crash reporting service, and no advertising.
• It does not read your contacts, your photos, your location, or anything else on the device that it did not put there itself, apart from a picture you explicitly ask it to save to your gallery.

• The cameras you added: their addresses, the names you gave them, and which stream each one uses. This is a file in the app's storage.
• The logins you entered, in the system key store, which is the part of HarmonyOS meant for passwords. They are used to talk to your cameras and nowhere else. They are never written into an exported camera list.
• The last picture from each widget, so a widget can show something before you tap it.
• A code identifying each camera, recorded the first time Argus reaches a camera over https, so that Argus can tell you if something else starts answering at that address later.

Only the requests Argus makes to your own cameras, on your own network, using the addresses you typed or that Argus found on that network. Nothing else.

If you export your camera list, the file goes wherever you choose to put it. That file contains camera addresses and names. It does not contain passwords.

• Internet access, to reach cameras on your network.
• Background running, used only for the seconds around a single picture being fetched after you tap a widget. Argus does nothing between taps.

Deleting a camera removes its address, its name and its saved login. Removing the app removes the camera list, every saved login, the pictures kept for the widgets and the camera identities. There is nothing held anywhere else to ask for, correct or delete.

Argus is not directed at children. It has no account, no social feature and no content of its own, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including minors. A parent or guardian with a question can use the contact below.
